Agnes M. ‘Gotto’ Kramer, 96, of 3730 Pennsylvania Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Nativity Catholic Church, with Father Dwayne J. Thoman officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 5:30 p.m.
Agnes was born on June 1, 1910, in Vernon Township, Iowa, daughter of William H. and Rachel (Callahan) Gotto. She married Reynold ‘Ray’ Kramer on May 4, 1932, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston, Iowa; he preceded her in death on June 14, 1978.
She graduated from St. Clement's High School in Bankston.
After Agnes and Ray were married, they moved to Dubuque where she was a homemaker and raised a family. She was a longtime member of Nativity Parish and their Rosary Society.
Surviving are three daughters, Marjorie (Richard) Sieverding, of Dubuque, Karen (James) Seeley, of St. Catherine, Iowa, and Mary (Robert) Hood, of Ankeny, Iowa; two sons, Joseph D. (Judy) Kramer, of Muscatine, Iowa, and Robert J. (Donnabelle) Kramer, of Dubuque; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Kramer, of Dubuque; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary McCabe, of Moline, Ill., and Virginia Kluesner, of Manchester, Iowa; five sisters-in-law, Betty Gotto, Lorraine Kramer, Bernice Lansing, Martha Jane Demmer and Arlene Jaeger; two brothers and sisters-in-law, LaVerne (Marguerite) Kramer and Herbert (Mae) Kramer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, William; a grandson, Donald Kramer; sisters, Cecilia Schmidt and Eleanor Skahill; and brothers, Joseph, Gerald, Louis and Sylvester Gotto.
