Leona Ann Schmidt Gainor Tarry, 100, formerly of Dubuque died peacefully Oct. 28, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 2, 2013 at St. John’s Cemetery, Dubuque. Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1640 Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
Leone was the youngest of 13 children, born Sept. 30, 1913 in Dubuque, daughter of Agustave and Selma Schmidt. She was faithful in her loving relationship to the Lord and taught her children to love the Lord.
She was a loving mother to 4 children, Dale Gainor of Ohio, Sharyn Dixon, of Oklahoma and recently of Ohio, and preceded in death Richard Gainor, and Rita Jean Gainor as an infant.
She is also survived by grandchildren living in Dubuque, Linda (Sean) O’Malley, Deborah (Donnie) Glab, Jennifer Donath, and Rebecca Bruce; a granddaughter Debbie Gates, of Marion, IA and Chrissy Gates, of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Gainor in Wisconsin and other relatives in Wisconsin, grandchildren, Patricia (Tom) Spanel, Tom Gainor with Jane Shannon, Jim (Rhonda) Gainor and John Gainor; great-grandchildren, Joe Spanel, Mike Spanel, Stephanie Jerod Gainor and Parker Gainor. There are other relatives residing in Oklahoma, Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, California and Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 12 brothers and sisters; and a great grandson, Matthew Gates.
