Margaret Mary Bassler, 87, formerly of 2172 Washington Street, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Manor Care.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St, is handling arrangements.
She was born on May 24, 1920, in Dubuque, daughter of Aloys and Mary (Tenhaaf) Bassler.
Margaret worked at H&W Trucking for many years. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and had a special devotion to the blessed mother. She was a fun loving woman, who always took the time to help others, especially her parents. She was supportive, open minded, fun and young at heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving is her sister-in law, Dorothy Bassler, of Leucadia, California; three nieces, Carol Shay, of Houston, Texas, Joan Maggs, of Granada Hills, California, and Jean Eggleton, of Muskegon, Michigan; and a nephew, Claude “Skip” Bassler of Sautee, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Carl James Bassler. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Dubuque and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Margaret’s Name.
