Richard Allen Curiel, 68, of Dubuque, passed away Monday July 9, 2012 at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab.
According to his wishes, there will be no services. Private burial will be at Linwood Cemetery. Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque, is entrusted with arrangements.
He was born March 8, 1944 in Dubuque, the son of Francis and Hazel (Gage) Curiel. Richard graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1962. He married Beverly Jean Miller, and she preceded him in death on July 3, 1967. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. He was employed for 18 years at Celotex, Dubuque, and then at Sadler Power Train for 18 years, retiring in 2010.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Richard A. (special friend Angie Anglin) Curiel Jr.; his granddaughter, Ashley (Josh) Stokesbury of Ames, IA; his sister-in-law, Juanita Chapman of Dubuque; his brother-in-law, Donald (Tracy) Miller of Salem, OR; and other brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Steven, and John Curiel; and his sisters, Patricia Schultz and Linda Curiel,
