Lorna M. ‘Corpstein’ Baumhover, 83, of 1001 Assisi Village died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at The Finley Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 2nd at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service.
She was born Dec. 1,1927, in Dubuque, daughter of Louis J. and Mary A. (Callahan) Hutter. She married Richard Corpstein, Sept. 26, 1946. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1990. She married Robert Baumhover, Nov. 23, 1992 at Nativity Church.
Lorna enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time at the Bellevue cottage, quilting, gardening and her church.
She was a member of Sacred Heart parish and the Power of Prayer.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Baumhover, of Dubuque; daughters, Jeanne (Russel ‘Chris’) Neuwoehner, of Dubuque, and Patti (Victor) Abate, of Huntley, Ill.; a son, David (Mary Ann) Corpstein, of Dubuque; a step-son, Robert L. (Sue) Baumhover II, of Dubuque; ten grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Hartman, of Dubuque, Joan (Joe) Blasen, of Dubuque and Nancy (David) Seitz, of Florida; sister-in-law, Izzy Hutter, of Dubuque and a brother-in-law, William Hooten, of Front Royal, Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Corpstein II; sisters, Rita Chapman and Lois Hooten and one brother Richard Hutter.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and care givers at Assisi Village.
